From a very young age, I’ve always been a hostess, planner, and DIYer.
In first grade one of my friends came over my house one day all upset because her mom said she couldn’t have a sleepover birthday party. She said her mom was “just too busy to plan and host the party this year”. Some background… at the time her mom was like 6 months pregnant with her FIFTH child and they had just placed their house up for sale. (Looking back, I do not blame her at all for trying to shut the party down!)
My friend asked “what should we do?” and I told her the solution to the problem was that WE just needed to plan the party so her mom didn’t have to! We set to work making a budget, passing out invitations at school, and calculating how much pizza to order (did I mention I was in first grade?). The gig was up though when one of the guests parents called her house to RSVP and her mom answered the phone. The good news is her mom was so impressed with everything we had done to prepare, she let us have the party!
Fast forward 20+ years, and my love of hosting and project planning has only expanded to include cooking and DIY home makeovers.
Hi! My name is Meaghan, and I’m a happily married Jersey girl with a passion for welcoming others into my home.
My husband and I bought our first place together, an 850 square foot condo in 2015, about a year before our wedding. We’ve poured our hearts (along with a lot of sweat) into this place to make our home worth showing off. We happily host friends and family pretty much every weekend and honestly, we couldn’t love it more.
My husband and I are getting ready for the next chapter in our lives which will start in 2020 when we look to buy our forever home where we intend to grow our family.
I want to share our journey with YOU because I hope you can learn from our successes and failures.
In this blog you’ll find a mix of recipes we’ve tried and loved, renovation and décor ideas we’ve used to create our home, recommended products that have made our lives easier, and some general hosting advice I have to share, all in the hopes of helping YOU build a home where your friends and family find joy and comfort.
